1989 Topps Major League Debut #53: Mike Hartley
Mike Hartley
PHOTO: Wow, this is a rarity. It's pretty unusual to see entire trees in card backgrounds that are not palm trees.
STAT: Hartley has one of the most recent seasons with at least one shutout and one save while pitching no more than 80 total innings.
CAREER: 2/10
Hartley was late to the bigs, not appearing until age 27. Despite pitching pretty well in his last few years, he was done by age 33.

That photo is hilarious! He looks like he's standing in either an all-dirt Little League infield or in the parking lot of a southern biker bar. The kind where you get punched in the face for asking where the bathroom is.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could wager on these things; before I even clicked on your link of players with "one shutout and one save" I said to myself 'sounds like something terry leach did' and not only is he on the list, he's on there twice.
